Parks Associates held its 10th annual CONNECTIONS Summit January 6-7 at CES 2016 in Las Vegas. CONNECTIONS Summit hosted over 500 attendees from the connected entertainment, IoT, and smart home industries.

New research presented included:

• Fourteen percent of U.S. broadband households plan to buy a streaming media player by midyear 2016.
• 33% of U.S. broadband households own a digital health/wellness device.
• Nearly 50% of U.S. broadband households with a smart garage door opener use a smartphone, tablet, or computer to control the opener almost every day.
• 76% of U.S. broadband households are very concerned about their data security and personal privacy when using connected devices.

The event also hosted a social media contest to engage the audience before and during the event. Congratulations to this year’s contest winner, Carolyn Ripley from PlumChoice!
