Households headed by consumers ages 25-34 have highest adoption rate for smart home devices

According to Parks Associates research, 30% of U.S. broadband households with a head of household ages 25-34 have adopted a smart home device. Compared to other age brackets, this age group represents the highest rate of adoption, though heads of households ages 35-44 own the highest number of smart home categories, with two types of devices per household.

Additional Parks Associates research shows:

  • Safety and security are the leading value propositions for the connected home
  • Households with an annual income of $100,000 or more are most likely to have a smart home device
  • Over a quarter of U.S. broadband households with children own at least one smart home device
