72% of broadband households in Spain watch OTT Video

The competitive landscape for video content and services is changing alongside the fundamentals of video quality and content delivery. As the market continues to change, service providers need to offer new and unique services in order to maintain or increase ARPU. Parks Associates research finds 72% of Spanish broadband households watch OTT video, compared to 57% in Germany, 55% in the U.K., and 51% in France.

Additional research shows:

  • 45% of European broadband households own a smart TV, with the highest percentage in Germany.
  • French broadband households are least likely to watch OTT video.
  • Over 50% of broadband households in Germany and more than two-thirds of broadband households in Spain and the U.K. have a connected CE device connected to the Internet.

The 2015 CONNECTIONS Europe conference will explore the types of experiences consumers expect from their connected entertainment sources and the role of service providers in creating them. For more information on the sessions at this year's event, visit www.connectionseurope.com.
