Centrica Connected Home: Communicating benefits of the smart home is key challenge

Before attending CONNECTIONS™ Europe in Amsterdam, D’Arcy Rossiter, Head of Insight at Centrica Connected Home, answered several industry questions:

Where do you feel the largest opportunity is for the smart home industry in Europe?

Many European countries have high levels of broadband and smart phone penetration and have populations who are comfortable using technology. What we as suppliers need to do is to deliver the use cases and propositions to those consumers, communicating the benefits of smart home products.

What challenges does Europe face with rolling out new smart home products and services?

Globally, the challenge is delivering the use cases and propositions to consumers that communicate the benefits of the smart home. I don’t think that is an issue that is specific to Europe.

We are looking forward to hearing you present, but what are you most looking forward to about the show this year?

Hearing how vendors in the space are creating sustainable models beyond one off sale of hardware.

Rossiter will speak on the session “Opportunities to Deliver Smart Home Solutions through Different Channels” alongside Steve Moore, Director of Connected Home, Dixons Carphone.
