API Integration Showcase at Connected Health Summit to demonstrate best practices and use cases for connected health devices and services

Parks Associates announced today the addition of the API Integration Showcase at the upcoming Connected Health Summit: Engaging Consumers, September 9-10 at the Omni Hotel in San Diego. The two-day executive conference will host over 250 executives focused on consumer-centric connected health solutions, with keynotes from AT&T, Cerner, CVS Health, Kaiser Permanente, and Humana. The API Integration Showcase will feature new connected health use cases and discuss best practices and lessons learned from the API experience.

“Integration of connected health devices and applications with healthcare systems creates new opportunities for technology providers, healthcare providers, and insurance companies. App developers and healthcare stakeholders can benefit from working closely through API integration to build an ecosystem of partners rapidly and expand the functionality of their respective platforms,” said Harry Wang, Director, Health & Mobile Product Research, Parks Associates. “We are very excited to add this Showcase to the event, and our audience will find great value in better understanding the roles of APIs in accelerating development of new health tools and solutions for consumer care.”

Participating companies include:

  • BaseHealth
  • BetterDoctor
  • Higi
  • Human API
  • IDEAL LIFE
  • PokitDok, Inc.
  • Withings
  • Walgreens

The API Integration Showcase highlights specific examples of how developers and their partners are using APIs to enhance product features, improve consumer experience, and strengthen patient engagement. Showcase participants will also show app development tools that make API integration smoother and more efficient and the types/sources of data commonly required by APIs.

“Higi’s vision is to provide affordable, accessible, convenient and targeted health engagement tools for our partners, and we see our data API as a key pillar of our strategy to empower our users with full control of their data,” said Khan M. Siddiqui, MD, Chief Medical Officer & Chief Technology Officer, Higi. “We believe consumers should be able to own and share their data to help them make the most informed healthcare decisions while maintaining all the security and privacy controls around that access. The healthcare industry has been plagued by health data silos for too long. It is time to open data access, and events like the API Integration Showcase at the Connected Health Summit are leading the discussion to drive this change.”

"We are excited to participate in the showcase of disruptive companies,” said Tapio Tolvanen, CTO and Co-Founder, BetterDoctor. “BetterDoctor will be presenting partner integrations using BetterDoctor's validated data enabling consumers to select physicians. It is our mission to help people find the right doctor for them."

"The solution to healthcare's challenges, both clinical and financial, lies not in creation of more and more technology islands, but rather in the thoughtful integration of solutions to allow data to flow freely in support of better health outcomes,” said Jason Goldberg, President, IDEAL LIFE. “This was a fundamental premise of IDEAL LIFE when we launched in 2002 and remains central to everything we do today. IDEAL LIFE is honored to be included in the API Integration Showcase at Connected Health Summit and excited to demonstrate how we are relentlessly pursuing greater integration to improve health outcomes, support reimbursement and streamline provider workflow."
