Parks Associates today announced the keynote speakers for the ninth-annual CONNECTIONS Europe Conference, taking place November 18-19 in Amsterdam. The conference will focus on entertainment and smart home solutions for the connected consumer, and keynote speakers include:

• Oliver Lewis, SVP, Product Management, Sky Deutschland
• Ken Durand, VP, Innovation and Business Development, Ericsson

Two keynote speakers will also be presenting during a fire-side chat, titled "Winning Strategies for the Smart Home" on Wednesday, November 19.

• Jon Carter, UK Head of Business Development – Connected Home, Deutsche Telekom AG
• Greg Roberts, VP, Marketing, Icontrol Networks

The research firm also recently announced new European data showing 50% of U.K., Spanish, and German broadband households with multiple connected CE select their preferred device based on ease-of-use, and not on availability of content or specific device features. 

Responding to the new data, Jon Carter remarked, "At a holistic level, we see the principle drivers being a desire by consumers to make their lives simpler and easier." No single driver exists or will likley emerge, he says, instead pointing to multiple market drivers based on the specific needs of diverse consumer segments.
