CONNECTIONS Conference Returns May 2015

Parks Associates will host the 19th-annual CONNECTIONS Conference May 19-21, 2015 in San Francisco, CA. The event provides interactive discussions, data on consumer trends, and market analysis, with strategic insights from industry players on entertainment, mobile, and smart home market segments. The event also features a showcase area where attendees can preview demos from event sponsors.

Conference highlights from the 2014 event include:

  • Software-based innovation will be the future of connected devices. Innovation related to authentication will also be a priority.
  • Interoperability is key - all products should work together to enable extension of existing systems, but they do not do so at this time.
  • API strategies should include marketable use cases and not just provide a data feed.
  • Adoption of smart home devices comes down to a few key devices: window sensors, door sensors, sensors, camera, door locks, and the thermostat.
  • Consumers will have many wearable devices, including "smart fabrics."
