Join Parks Associates and Giraffic Video for #CordCutterTech Twitter Roundtable

Parks Associates research shows over 50% of U.S. broadband households now use paid over-the-top (OTT) video services, either subscription or transactional, and consumers ages 18-25 report that online video is their most important video source. 17% of U.S. broadband households recently reported that they would subscribe to HBO's new streaming-only service, HBO Go.

Amid announcements of new OTT services, it is obvious that the TV landscape is changing. Join Parks Associates analysts for a Twitter roundtable chat with Giraffic video and other industry experts on Thursday, April 9, at 2:00pm ET. Brett Sappington, Glenn Hower, and Ruby-Ren Bond will be available to answer questions and comment on cord-cutting, OTT services, and market disruptors.

Some of the topics to be explored in the Twitter discussion include:

  • The growth of unbundled and streaming TV
  • Added demands of UHD 4K
  • Bandwidth bottlenecks in the last mile and in the home WiFi network
  • Recent changes like net neutrality and HTTP 2.0
  • Where are the points in the network that congestion is actually occurring?
  • Solutions and workarounds
  • Prospects for streaming growth and user experience

To participate,  follow the Twitter hashtag #CordCutterTech on Thursday, April 9, between 2:00pm and 3:00pm ET. A moderator will be asking questions to participating panelists, who will respond in real-time. If you have a question, make sure to include #CordCutterTech in your message to the panelists.
