40-50% of consumers find individual energy monitoring services appealing

ecobee, EnergyHub, sonnen, and Whisker Labs to discuss energy management solutions at 21st-annual CONNECTIONS™ Conference, May 23-25

IoT research firm Parks Associates announced energy management research today showing 40-50% of consumers find individual energy monitoring services appealing. Industry-leading executives will join Parks Associates at the 21st-annual CONNECTIONS™: The Premier Connected Home Conference, May 23-25 in San Francisco, to discuss strategies to get consumers excited about energy management as well as ways to leverage the billions of smart home devices found in U.S. broadband households.

“Safety and security are the leading value propositions for the smart home, yet more people own smart thermostats than any other product category,” said Tom Kerber, Director of IoT Strategy, Parks Associates. “At CONNECTIONS™, we will examine the convergence in the smart home and energy management and why energy management solutions are experiencing strong growth.”

Smart Home: Quest for Compelling Use Cases notes that 54% of U.S. broadband households are interested in a monitoring solution that identifies problems with any major appliance and 50% are interested in a solution that identifies ways of improving energy efficiency. Overall, U.S. consumers show a preference for energy solutions with actionable intelligence that are informative and proactive, over basic monitoring and reporting solutions.

Energy Management Solutions: Moving the Market Forward,” Wednesday, May 24, at 10:30 a.m., moderated by Tom Kerber, features the following speakers:
