The Market for Energy Solutions Across Europe: December Webcast

Parks Associates research shows that adoption of smart home services and devices is continuing to grow in Europe—already, 11% of broadband households in Spain, 9% in the U.K., 5% in Germany report ownership of a home control system. Interest, too, is growing, with 25% of broadband households in these three countries reporting that they are "very" interested in smart home devices, especially those for home security and safety.

Today, many European energy companies are offering smart products and services that help consumers reduce energy consumption and save money, although adoption is still limited. Most consumers are unaware of the capabilities that smart products provide, creating challenges for the selling process.

Parks Associates and Verisure will present and discuss opportunities for utilities to succeed with smart home strategies in a complimentary industry webcast on Decmber 2. The webcast will specifically address the European energy and smart home markets.

The webcast will address several important topics:

  • The market for energy solutions across Europe
  • New business opportunities for energy utilities and their partners created by the smart home and the Internet of Things
  • The status of smart meter deployments and smart service offerings
  • Strategies to raise consumer awareness and increase adoption of new energy offerings

Moderated by Parks Associates director of research Tom Kerber, speakers for the event will include Seb Chakraborty, Director of Technology (Connected Homes), British Gas; Jeremy Peterson, General Manager, Home Comfort and Energy Systems, EMEA, Honeywell; and Dick Seger, President of Strategic Partnerships & Alliances, Verisure Securitas Direct.
