PlumChoice’s New Executives Bolster Company’s Leadership Position in IoT, Cloud Services

PlumChoice, Inc., the leader in specialized technical services for the Internet of Things (IoT) and cloud applications, today announced the appointments of two new executives, reflecting the company’s expansive leadership position in the dynamic technology and support services landscapes.

James E. Carr joins PlumChoice as the company’s chief financial officer, while Michael Prendergast will serve in a newly created role of vice president of business and partner development. Carr’s financial leadership at a number of prominent and innovative technology companies, and Prendergast’s range of expertise in direct-to-consumer and small business sales, further strengthens PlumChoice’s unique business model of enabling partners to optimize the experiences that consumers and businesses derive from their technology, thus generating greater lifetime value.

“ISPs, retailers, manufacturers, resellers and developers of IoT and cloud technologies for consumers and SMBs continue to be stymied by sub-optimal sales, adoption, integration and usage,” said Bob Badavas, president, CEO and director at PlumChoice. “The current technical service and support paradigm of most companies serving consumers and SMBs simply no longer works. It must extend throughout the entire buyer/customer journey and drive much deeper than problem remediation and device replacement. We’re pleased to add Jim and Michael to our team as the industry and our business pivot, and PlumChoice harnesses that opportunity. Their expertise furthers our capacity and market model for arming top brands to deliver outstanding technology experiences and sell more products via our savvy technical agents, best-in-class service delivery platform, and unmatched service and sales know-how.”

Carr brings to PlumChoice a formidable background in finance developed from more than 20 years of industry experience with leading technology companies such as Akamai, CA Technologies, Oracle and Enterasys Networks. For PlumChoice, he is responsible for building and monitoring the company’s financial metrics, while directing the accounting, audit, tax and investor relations functions and practices. He also serves on the team that evaluates strategic business opportunities in support of company growth. Carr holds a Master’s of Business Administration from National University School of Business and Management in San Diego, a Master’s Degree in Finance from Bentley University and a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Saint Michael’s College.

Prendergast will flex his 20 years of experience in sales, marketing and business operations to help the company expand channel and alliance partnerships. Responsible for all revenue generation, he leads the team responsible for identifying and securing new opportunities with new and existing partners, and those responsible for selling directly to consumers and small businesses on behalf of those partners. Prendergast previously held sales leadership positions at DukeNet Communications, SEP Consulting, LLC and Qwest Communications. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications Studies from Stonehill College.
