New Whitepaper - Strategies for Engaging the New Energy Consumer

Engaging consumers in energy management has been an ongoing challenge for utilities for decades. Parks Associates research shows only 7% of U.S. broadband households own a smart energy product, with consumers ages 25-34 leading the charge—10% of consumers in this age bracket have adopted at least one smart energy device.

In order to engage this new segment of young, digitally engaged consumers, utilities will need to reach out on the channels these consumers use most—mobile and social platforms.

Parks Associates' most recent energy whitepaper, Digital Engagement of Energy Consumers, outlines several strategies utilities can employ to engage this group of consumers. Highlights from the firm's study include:

  • Profiles of new energy consumer segments, including motivations to adopt energy saving products and programs
  • Best practices for utilities on social media platforms
  • How to leverage the data provided in smart home devices to communicate with consumers in a meaningful way
