Pay-TV Pathways to European Households

New Parks Associates research released this week reveals the multiple routes pay-TV providers have when trying to reach European consumers in the home.

The firm's primary research study, Emerging Power of IoT in Europe, surveys large, statistically significant consumer samples in multiple Western European countries, focusing on the smart home, enertainment and content, and connected devices and support. The study reveals:

  • 55% of U.K. broadband households, 36% of Spanish broadband households, and 20% of German broadband households have a set-top box
  • Penetration of Internet-connected CE is 54% of German broadband households, 67% in the U.K., and 69% in Spain
  • In Spain, 71% of broadband households have a gaming console, and 54% of have a computer connected to a TV
