Smart Home Awareness is Low, but Growing in Europe

New Parks Associates research released today reveals that though smart home adoption in Europe is low, consumers still find smart home products and services appealing.

However, approximately 25% of broadband households in the U.K., Germany, and Spain find individual smart home devices “very” appealing, with smart devices such as smoke, water, and CO detectors as the most appealing, according to Parks Associates' 3Q 2014 European consumer data. The firms' research also shows that 22% of broadband households in Germany, 30% in Spain, and 34% in the U.K. are interested in purchasing a smart home package.

Parks Associates will present data related to the connected home at its ninth-annual CONNECTIONS Europe conference, hosted this year in Amsterdam, November 18-19. Sessions feature topics on the IoT, tech support, and home entertainment industries, with keynotes from Deutsche Telekom, Icontrol Networks, and Sky Deutschland.
