Strategies Needed to Achieve a Unified Experience in the Smart Home

by Parks Associates | May. 9, 2019

Typically, the entertainment space and the smart home have evolved in their own silos, each with its own ecosystem, business models, and players. However, in some instances the two worlds do find areas of common purpose and benefit. In particular, there’s a common need for robust networking in the home. Ensuring reliable connectivity and sufficient coverage is critical for both connected entertainment and connected smart home use cases. Parks Associates data finds that loss of network connectivity is one of the top issues faced by consumers after purchasing a smart home device.

Moderated by Lindsay Gafford the CONNECTIONS™ session, “Connected Entertainment and Smart Home: Bridging Parallel Ecosystems,” addresses strategies for addressing issues of coverage, congestion, and network optimization to deliver a premium Wi-Fi experience for the whole connected home. The session will also address strategies for achieving a unified experience between smart home and connected entertainment products and services.
