by Parks Associates | Sep. 16, 2014

Amy Kabcenell, Sr. Director, Marketing, ADT Health, ADT shares her insights at the Connected Health Summit: Engaging Consumers. Amy was a member of the Advisory Board and spoke on the "Independent Living: Engaging the Elderly and Caregivers" panel at the 2014 event.

What is the most important next step for healthcare providers to engage consumers in digital health solutions?
Healthcare providers should be on the forefront of educating consumers on digital health solutions and their benefit. Digital health solutions can empower consumers to more actively participate in their health and well-being.

What will be the biggest impact for consumers as a result of digital health solutions?
Digital health solutions can provide increased quality of life for end-users and caregivers. Lowering healthcare costs by reducing re-admissions and extending the time one can gracefully age in place are primary examples.

What will be the biggest driver for digital health market?
What I see as one of the biggest drivers for the digital health market will be an increase in connected devices, primarily driven by the tremendous growth of the Internet of Things, which will allow consumers to communicate and connect in a seamless world. However, the largest foreseeable driver will be private and public reimbursement.
