CONNECTIONS™ Summit at CES® examines new CE and smart home business strategies emerging from IoT and cloud-based services

Parks Associates Announces Topics and Call for Papers for 11th-annual executive event

Parks Associates today announced the agenda and call for papers for the 11th-annual CONNECTIONS™ Summit: IoT and the Smart Home, taking place January 5, 2017, at CES 2017 in Las Vegas. The one-day executive summit focuses on the best business models and value propositions in the Internet of Things (IoT), the smart home, and connected and mobile CE and services.

“Approximately 50% of U.S. broadband households plan to purchase a CE device this year, a rate that has held remarkably steady over the past three years,” said Stuart Sikes, President, Parks Associates. “Purchase intentions for smart home products have reached similar levels, but in the consumer-based IoT, solutions must be able to adapt to an individual and align with their needs. Companies can also engage each consumer with a tailored value proposition. These new capabilities require a strategic transition from hardware-based business models to strategies that leverage software and cloud-based solutions.”

The CONNECTIONS™ Summit agenda includes six executive sessions and a networking reception on the opening day of CES. All sessions will be moderated by Parks Associates analysts and will feature commentary, insight, and debate on successful market strategies and deployment on the following topics:

  • Creating New Value in the Connected Home: Integration, Partnerships, and Privacy
  • IoT Crossover: Smart Home, Entertainment, Appliances, Cars, and Energy
  • The Role of Connected Health Services in the Smart Home
  • IoT and Smart Home: Seamless Interoperability
  • IoT: Support Services and Managing the Experience
  • IoT and Smart Home: Changing Business Models

“A comprehensive smart home strategy offers a variety of services that require expertise from multiple ecosystems and new partnerships from different industry sectors,” Sikes said. “CONNECTIONS™ Summit examines the partnerships, business models, and technology integration necessary to achieve the vision of an IoT-enabled smart home.”

Early CONNECTIONS™ Summit sponsors include Greenwave Systems, Icontrol Networks, ROC-Connect, and Vivint.
