Industry Leaders to Address IoT and Smart Home Market at CONNECTIONS™ Europe: Monetizing Strategies for the Connected Home

Parks Associates announces new research showing CE adoption across Germany, Spain and, the U.K.

In advance of Parks Associates’ CONNECTIONS™ Europe conference, 18-19 November at the Mövenpick Hotel in Amsterdam, the market research firm announced international data today showing connected CE adoption rates in Germany, Spain, and the U.K. are on a strong upward trend.

Spain leads adoption rates in desktops, smartphones, MP3 players, and e-readers. The U.K. and Spain are tied for the highest rates of laptop adoption, while the U.K. leads adoption rates in home network routers, tablets, and Internet-connected watches.

“European countries trail the U.S. in home network adoption, but a couple of EU countries are outpacing the U.S. in adoption of Internet-connected CE,“ said Stuart Sikes, President, Parks Associates. “Among broadband households, 69% in Spain and 67% in the U.K. own at least one Internet-connected CE device, compared to 64% in the U.S. We are bringing together industry leaders to discuss new business strategies as digital devices and services continue to expand across the continent.”

The ninth-annual conference provides attendees with high-level analysis and consumer research, networking opportunities, and information on emerging connected home services and technologies. Keynotes and featured speakers include Ericsson, Sky Deutschland, Deutsche Telekom, Icontrol Networks, Roku, PacketVideo, Verisure, Orange, and Rovi.
