Nearly 30% of U.S. broadband households own a connected health device

AT&T Keynotes 2015 Connected Health Summit: Engaging Consumers

Parks Associates today announced digital health research showing 29% of U.S. broadband households own a connected health device and 12% of U.S. broadband households own multiple connected health devices. The research firm will address new partnerships between device manufacturers and health insurance providers, as well as other key issues in the growing connected health market, at the second-annual Connected Health Summit: Engaging Consumers, September 9-10, at the Omni San Diego Hotel.

“The adoption rate for fitness trackers and GPS watches has increased, while the adoption rate for other connected health devices has been more stable,” said Harry Wang, Director, Health & Mobile Product Research, Parks Associates. “Fitness trackers stand out as one of the more successful product categories thanks to the release of better products and major marketing campaigns.”

Throughout the conference, Parks Associates will present its industry and consumer research, including Digitally Fit: Products and Services for Connected Consumers, which reports over 50% of U.S. broadband households use an online health tool to communicate with their doctor, access personal health data, or fill prescriptions. Steve Burger, Area VP of Business Development, IoT Organization, AT&T, will join executives from Kaiser Permanente and Humana to present keynotes at the event.

“AT&T is a key player driving the market’s shift to a consumer-driven care model,” said Harry Wang, Director, Health & Mobile Product Research, Parks Associates. “At this year’s Connected Health Summit, we will hear from the best in the industry about technology developments that are addressing consumer healthcare needs.”
