Comprehensive Tech Support Remains Invaluable

by Kaitlin Hawkins | Apr. 15, 2014

Parks Associates research predicts that comprehensive technical support will remain the most relevant service as the market continues to grow and evolve. Published in the firm's 4Q 2013 research report, The Evolution of Tech Support: Trends and Outlooks, analysts find that 55% of smartphone owners want a service that protects their device from viruses and identity theft, and approximately 50% want a service that repairs or replaces their device if accidentally damaged. Short battery life and establishing a network connection remain the two most common problems on smartphones, but the firm's research reveals consumers find value in comprehensive support, rather than one-time fixes.

Parks Associates will present analysis and insight into the tech support market at the 18th-annual CONNECTIONS Conference, May 13-15. The May 14 session "Tech Support: Connected Home Strategies and Solutions," will highlight how technical support services can and should evolve alongside the smart home. Executives from iYogi, RadialPoint, PlumChoice, Support.com, and Sutherland Global will speak.
