What are the major challenges that your business must address in 2015? 2020?

Interest in the connected home has been rapidly increasing, yet there are a few challenges that must be overcome in order to make the smart home a reality. First, a simple and reliable network must be put in place that will allow multiple devices to easily connect and work together seamlessly. Consumer adaption will only happen if the setup and usage of the “connect home” is easy and if they have confidence that it will work all the time. Second, a low power solution is crucial to the success of the connected network because battery-operated devices must operate for years. Finally, it is imperative that connected home products incorporate adequate and appropriate security measures to make sure that private data is protected. If these roadblocks can be overcome in the next five years, the market potential for connected home devices is pretty remarkable.
