by Parks Associates | Sep. 16, 2014

Christopher Nicholson, VP and COO, Humana Wellness shares his insights at the Connected Health Summit: Engaging Consumers. Christopher was a member of the Advisory Board and a keynote at the 2014 event.

What is the most important next step for healthcare providers to engage consumers in digital health solutions?
I see two key steps in engaging consumers in digital health: the first is much better understanding of their “preferences” (how they want to be communicated to, in what channel, language preferences, what types of content, etc.), and the second is truly leveraging “context” (the elements of the consumers world that influence them and can be leveraged to improve relevancy and engagement).

What will be the biggest impact for consumers as a result of digital health solutions?
The biggest impact for consumers is improved health outcomes, improved access, improved knowledge, and more relevant information.

What will be the biggest driver for digital health market?
Improved health engagement leading to improved outcomes—better for society, individuals, and overall cost of the system.
