OTT video is reshaping the U.S. entertainment marketplace—Parks Associates research shows nearly two-thirds of U.S. broadband households have an OTT service, and one-third have more than one subscription. This growing trend is increasing demand on home and mobile networks as consumers spend more bandwidth streaming media on their televisions, tablets, and phones.

Additional research shows:
- 10% of U.S. broadband households who have fixed-line broadband Internet service (over 50% of all U.S. broadband households) are likely to cancel their service over the next 12 months.
- The average broadband household will require 10-20 Mbps if all of their connected devices simultaneously streamed SD-quality video (assuming no other data traffic is present in the home) and approximately 20-50 Mbps for HD-quality video streaming.
- 39% of U.S. broadband households visit a video sharing site like YouTube at least once a week.
