Interoperability Considered Very Important by Consumers with Smart Home Devices

As the Internet of Things expands, consumers expect interoperability with the increasing volume of smart devices they are buying. Smart home research from Parks Associates shows over 50% of all smart home device owners consider interoperability as “very important” and the value increases with each device purchased, reaching 60% among households that have three devices.

Parks Associates recently partnered with ULE Alliance to discuss the future of the smart home industry, specifically focusing on the challenges and opportunities in designing and deploying interoperable smart home solutions.

Research topics covered included:

  • Low energy usage network architecture
  • Long-range smart home network control
  • Cost-effective implementation strategies
  • Solutions that will drive the smart home market beyond early adopters
