Jawbone Examines the Connected Health Market

by Parks Associates | Sep. 17, 2014

Jason Donahue, Product Manager for Data & Insights, Jawbone shares his insights at the Connected Health Summit: Engaging Consumers. Jason spoke on the "Moving the Digital Health Market Forward: Consumers Take Charge" panel at the 2014 event.

What is the most important next step for healthcare providers to engage consumers in digital health solutions?
Learn about consumer-focused fitness and sleep tracking devices, and what information they can provide. Patients will increasingly visit their providers with information about their daily activity, nutrition and sleep, and will be asking for answers on how these daily behaviors relate to their overall health.

What will be the biggest impact for consumers as a result of digital health solutions?
Increasingly, patients will use fitness and sleep tracking devices that provide new information about their day to day wellness. Executed correctly, these devices will motivate patients to make healthier decisions. Pairing these devices with guidance from providers will result in better preventive care, greater focus on healthy living, and lower health costs.

What will be the biggest driver for digital health market?
The individual customer. In a digital health world, patients will acquire their own tools, research their own diseases, and proactively seek out potential solutions. The digital world enables access to information - what is needed from healthcare providers is the experienced interpretation of the data and recommendations for next steps.
