Mobile Gaming USA

Last week I attended Mobile Gaming USA in San Francisco. The conference was packed with excellent speakers from some of the most active companies in the mobile gaming space. Common topics revolved around free-to-play and the importance of analytics. I also enjoed the keynote presented by Jason Loia, COO of Digital Chocolate, on the importance of cross-platform gaming.

According to Digital Chocolate's data, gamers' loyalty increases by 3X when they play on more than one platform. Even more importantly, 70% of users end up spending more money on a game if they play it across multiple platforms (ARPU increases by 20%). It sounds like something game developers and publishers should keep in mind when they decide a game's availability on different platforms.
