New Opportunities for Partnerships Among OTT, CE, and Pay-TV in Europe

Europe has served as an early market for new online video services. As the wave of OTT video breaks across European markets, new opportunities for partnerships are opening up among OTT services, CE manufacturers, and pay-TV providers. Parks Associates research finds 45% of European broadband households own a smart TV, with the highest percentage in Germany, where over 50% of broadband households have this Internet-connected CE device.

Additonal Parks Associates research shows:

  • Sales of smart TVs will exceed 23 million, and Western European consumers will buy nearly 13 million streaming media devices in 2015.
  • 57% of broadband households in the U.K., 29% in Spain, and 24% in Germany subscribe to an OTT service.

Parks Associates analysts will address pay-TV, OTT, and other connected entertainment trends at the tenth-annual CONNECTIONS Europe conference, taking place 10-11 November in Amsterdam. For more information, visit www.connectionseurope.com.
