New Parks Associates Mobile Research Revealed at Mobile World Congress

In conjunction with this year's Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Parks Associates released new mobile industry research detailing the dynamic mobile data market from the perspective of the mobile operator. The research report, Optimization & Monetization Mobile Data Traffic, reveals that mobile network operator revenues are declining due to increased competition.

"Since 2008, revenues from voice services for the top-four U.S. mobile network operators (MNOs) have declined 6%, while data revenues have grown 129%. Mobile data revenues will be key to offsetting stagnant growth in voice revenues," said Harry Wang, Director, Health & Mobile Product Research, Parks Associates.

Among the revenue data in this report, Parks Associates also finds that approximately 29% of Americans use their smartphones to watch video on a monthly basis, which is estimated to increase to 173 million people by 2017.
