One-third of broadband households in Western Europe plan to purchase a smart home device in the next 12 months
Consumer intention to purchase devices and integrate them into home systems continues to be a growing trend across Western Europe. Mass-market smart home products and services are now available through numerous channels, including security dealers, telecoms, and retail stores, and both mass-market and custom-installed systems are seeing substantial growth as the combined marketing efforts of all channels are improving awareness.
According to research conducted by Parks Associates for its annual European consumer research survey, Connected Consumer in Europe:
- 37% of Spanish broadband households plan to purchase a smart home device in the next 12 months.
- 45% of broadband households in Western Europe own a smart TV.
- Pay-TV adoption is 50% in Spain, 87% in Germany, 74% in the U.K., and 75% in France.
