Only 15% of Households Familiar with Load Control Programs

Energy efficiency is becoming more important to consumers. In addition to helping households save money on their monthly utilities, energy efficient programs and practices also help preserve and conserve natural resources.

However, in the latest Parks Points newsletter, Parks Associates notes that less than one-sixth of the U.S. population knows about load control programs. Even though adoption of energy-saving appliances and devices like CFL/LED lightbulbs and programmable thermostats is increasing, a wide gap still remains between purchase and practice.
