Parks Associates Digital Health Analyst To Present New Research at mHealth World Congress

by Mindi Sue Sternblitz-Rubenstein | Jul. 24, 2012

Jennifer Kent, Research Analyst, Parks Associates, will present new digital health research at the 4th Annual mHealth World Congress event Thursday, July 26, in the keynote panel discussion “Consumer Trends – What Mobile Technologies Will Prevail and Why?” in Boston from 9:15-10:15 a.m. This session analyzes the results from consumer surveys that probe the impact of mobile on health and wellness behaviors.

Parks Associates' research shows consumer interest in mobile health solutions is growing but the industry faces challenges in monetization and current consumer usage:

  • Nearly 30% of U.S. mobile phone users with a health condition are confident they would better manage their health problems if they had an easy-to-use health device/tool that tracks their progress.
  • On average, 15-20% of mobile phone users have strong affinity for at least one mobile health application.
  • The majority of mobile phone users will not pay more than $3 for a mobile health app – even if they like it.
  • Less than 20% of phone users search for health information on a mobile phone.

The mHealth World Congress gathers national and international health care and technology executives to discuss the latest applications and strategic initiatives as mobile technologies transform the future delivery of health care.
