Sharp ships largest consumer-accessible LCD HDTV

by Parks Associates | Apr. 21, 2011

Sharp's shipping its newest LCD HDTV, the 70-inch LC-70LE732U, the largest, commercially available, LCD HDTV on the market. The screen was announced at CES 2011, but it's hitting stores now. According to Sharp, the HDTV offers 62 percent more viewing area than a 55-inch screen, the top-selling size in the 50-plus-inch category.

The LC-70LE732U features Sharp's Quattron Quad Pixel technology, built-in Wi-Fi for accessing Web apps like Netflix and Facebook, and network control for integrating the screen into a custom home theater installation. Sharp's new LC-70LE732U will retail for $3,799.99. The 70-inch LCD HDTV is available now, but will soon be in competition with three additional 70-inch models Sharp will be introducing this summer.
