Unlocking the Full Potential of Residential IoT – Complimentary Webcast

by Parks Associates | Nov. 22, 2016

Parks Associates research finds approximately 50% of U.S. broadband households plan to buy a smart home device in the next 12 months, but most purchases are “minor” devices such as smart lightbulbs and thermostats. Only 19% plan to buy a smart major appliance in the next 12 months, meaning millions of dishwashers, clothes dryers, and refrigerators with no smart features will remain in use for the foreseeable future.

Unconnected legacy devices create dead zones in the home that constrain the full promise of smart home intelligence. Technology that enables real-time connectivity in home efficiency, safety and security is a strategic imperative.

On December 6, Parks Associates and Earth Networks will host the complimentary webcast "Connecting the Potential with the Premise of the IoT" and will examine the technologies that can connect legacy devices to smart devices and extend the IoT to all corners of the home. Speakers will discuss consumer interest in use cases unlocked once true intelligence is enabled throughout the home:

  • Monitoring individual appliance usage and health to predict and prevent imminent failure
  • Providing presence information to other connected devices to enable efficiency programs
  • Optimizing energy storage within the home

Registration is complimentary and all attendees will receive a copy of the recording. If you cannot make it to the live event, you can still register and receive access to the on-demand recording following the live session. Register today!
