Parks Associates CEO Authors Article in Security Sales and Integration Publication

Tricia Parks, CEO & Founder of Parks Associates, has authored an article entitled "How Dealers Are Protecting Their Home Turf" in Security Sales and Integration (SSI) publication.

Parks Associates and SSI regularly survey installing security dealers to look for emerging trends in residential security systems and services.

In the current marketplace, there is continued movement toward professionally monitored security by telcos and cablecos and self-installed smart home systems.

Why are telco, cableco and other providers entering the security and home automation market?  About 20% of all homes in the United States have some functioning electronic security system, and that percentage rises to 25% for broadband households. However, only 16% are professionally monitored. If smart home system and device benefits can reduce attrition by even just half, the benefit to provider profitability and growth is enormous.

Top smart home devices desired by dealers from an interactive service provider are cameras, door locks and home safety devices.

The market should also see a shift toward increasing customization and innovative offerings as security dealers find these qualities significant in establishing a foothold and achieving differentiation in the market.
