Parks Associates Director, Health & Mobile Product Research, moderating panel at Open Mobile Summit

Harry Wang, Director, Health & Mobile Product Research, Parks Associates, is moderating the session "mHealth: Pushing the Needle Forward in Transforming Health Care” at the Open Mobile Summit on Tuesday, November 12, 5:00-5:40 P.M., at the Parc 55 Wyndham Hotel in San Francisco.

According to Parks Associates research, 24% of U.S. broadband households own at least one digital health or fitness device, and nearly 20% of U.S. smartphone and tablet owners use an app to track or manage their fitness activities.

"On average, 23% of U.S. broadband households would be comfortable receiving healthcare services via telephone, email, or webcam," Wang said. "A strong and growing consumer segment is comfortable and highly interested in mobile health solutions, and there are multiple business models for mobile carriers looking to enter this market space, provided they are able to balance consumer demand with industry requirements in their solutions."

Open Mobile Summit including Appcelerate connects the most influential and the most innovative in converging mobile, Internet, media, electronics and commerce. At Appcelerate CEOs of the most successful app publishers on the planet share the secrets to their success building, marketing and monetizing apps. Google Ventures, eBay, Sprint, Samsung, AT&T, ESPN and more shared their knowledge and strategy in 2012, and the event will bring on board the crème de la crème of mobile leaders in 2013.
