Parks Associates to Present at SXSW Connected Home Developers Garage

by Kaitlin Hawkins | Mar. 6, 2014

Parks Associates President, Stuart Sikes, will be presenting new consumer survey results on smart home systems at the South by Southwest (SXSW) conference in Austin, TX. Sikes will be speaking at the Connected Home Developers Garage, taking place March 8-9.

Among the research Sikes will be presenting include potential revenue sources for smart home system developers. Parks Associates finds that between 57% and 73% of likely smart home buyers are interested in purchasing upgrades or additional equipment through an app provided by their smart home system. This data suggests partnerships between app developers and smart home systems will become critical to moving the connected home market forward.

The Connected Home Developers Garage at SXSW will be located at Silicon Labs’ Austin headquarters at 200 West Cesar Chavez Street, 10:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m., followed by a networking happy hour. For more information on the research data or the conference, click here.
