Connected home services provide growth opportunities for CE, retailers, and broadband providers

Parks Associates and Radialpoint to discuss new strategies to increase ARPU and broadband subscribers

Parks Associates and Radialpoint will host the webcast "Tapping into the Connected Home Opportunity" to discuss market implications and strategic recommendations for retailers, service providers, and CE manufacturers in developing and deploying services critical to maintaining customer satisfaction.

The complimentary event, Tuesday, December 6, 1 p.m. CT / 2 p.m. ET, includes assessments of the technical challenges as consumers continue to add Internet-connected CE and digital platforms in the home. New U.S. research from Parks Associates finds providers that offer customer support services such as tech support, home monitoring, backup services, and antivirus protection can increase their percentage of highly satisfied broadband customers by almost 20% over the national average.

Parks Associates also reports one-fourth of U.S. broadband households intend to purchase an Internet-connectable CE device in 2011. Nearly 30% of U.S. consumers would purchase a CE product from a specific manufacturer if it included ongoing support services. To remain competitive, companies must have flexible yet cost-effective strategies to bring these new devices into their service footprint.

“Competition for customers continues to intensify as a variety of services, from tech support to home management, are in play alongside video and broadband," said Kurt Scherf, VP, Principal Analyst, Parks Associates. "Businesses in the connected home space must shift their thinking about customer services. The presence of holistic service offerings can solidify a company's reputation while bringing in new customers. During this webcast, we will discuss the key strategies for companies to expand their business model through support services in order to increase revenue and expand their core business."

This webcast also explores the requirements for a technology platform that is cost-effective but can still evolve to meet changing consumer and business needs.

Webcast speakers include Scherf and Jordan Socran, Senior Director, Global Sales & Business Development, Radialpoint. To attend, register at http://www.parksassociates.com/radialpoint-webcast-2011.
