MEDIA ALERT: Parks Associates to discuss consumer demand for smart home services within the Internet of Things

Parks Associates President Chairs Digital Home World Summit in Berlin

Parks Associates research, announced in advance of the Digital Home World Summit in Berlin, finds 43% of U.S. broadband households are willing to purchase a smart home package, which would leverage the Internet of Things for safety, security, or home management applications. The firm's European research finds consumers in France, Germany, the U.K., and Belgium value smart safety/security devices highest, including smoke and motion detectors.

"Strong appeal for smart home solutions among consumers in the U.S and Europe is a good sign because this market is still in its infancy. As consumer awareness grows, interest and demand for such systems will also increase," said Stuart Sikes, President, Parks Associates.

Mr. Sikes will chair the Digital Home World Summit and moderate the panels "Using the Emergence of New Services in the Digital Home for Creative Business Models” and "Developing the Value Proposition for the End Consumer." He is available to comment on hot topics during this two-day summit, which  will focus on key strategies for connected home services, including the Internet of Things in Europe and across the globe.
