AT&T and Starz to Keynote CONNECTIONS™: The Premier Connected Home Conference

Parks Associates research shows global sales of connected CE products will grow from 247 million in 2012 to 734 million by 2017

Parks Associates today announced Kevin Petersen, SVP, Digital Life, AT&T Mobility and Consumer Markets, and John Penney, EVP, Strategy, Business Development, & Worldwide Distribution, Starz, will deliver keynote presentations at CONNECTIONS™: The Premier Connected Home Conference, co-located with CTIA 2013, May 20-23 in Las Vegas.

New research from Parks Associates indicates consumers will increase their weekly mobile video and TV viewing by 175% from 2012 to 2017. The international research firm also reports growing consumer interest in the ability to manage and control home components and systems through a computer, mobile phone, or tablet. Global unit sales of connected CE, including smart TVs, connected Blu-ray players, connected game consoles, media tablets, and digital video media receivers, will grow from approximately 247 million in 2012 to nearly 734 million by 2017.

CONNECTIONS™, hosted by Parks Associates, focuses on emerging technologies, monetization strategies, and content distribution for connected CE and connected home services.  Mr. Petersen will deliver the May 20 keynote at 12:00 p.m., and Mr. Penney will deliver the May 22 keynote at 2:30 p.m.

"Mobility is a key part of the connected home, with the average broadband user watching 1.6 hours of video on a mobile phone each week," said Stuart Sikes, president, Parks Associates. "As service subscriptions become saturated, competition shifts to content and multiscreen offerings, and our research shows consumers are watching the same kinds of movies and TV programs on mobile phones and tablets as they are on computers and TV sets. Starz and AT&T both bring significant expertise in the role of content and mobility in building strong consumer services, and their insights will be invaluable at CONNECTIONS™."

CONNECTIONS™ features research presentations, keynotes, and interactive sessions focused on consumer trends, market analysis, and strategic insight from players within the connected home industries. Early sponsors are Allegro, Lowe's, Qualcomm, Sutherland Global Services, Arrayent, Support.com, and AlertMe.

Parks Associates will host the Connected Home Pavilion on the CTIA 2013 show floor, spotlighting service providers, device manufacturers, and advanced technology companies working on solutions for the connected consumer.
