SES 2014: Emerging and Innovative Connected Home Business Models

New business models continue to emerge as connected home products and solutions become more integrated into the home automation and energy management markets. Parks Associates research shows that many consumers do not understand or want recurring fees attached to their smart home technology; however, utilities and platform manufacturers require fees for services rendered. It is in this space where creative monetization methods are required to keep a balance between consumer adoption and provider services.

This year's Smart Energy Summit hosted a panel of speakers from Ayla Networks; GDF SUEZ Energy Resources, NA; and People Power on February 19 to discuss and analyze emerging, new, and innovative business models for the connected home.

Speakers:

David Friedman, Co-Founder and CEO of Ayla Networks

David Friedman forges partnerships with leading micro-controller companies, and builds relationships with OEMs serving a variety of markets including health, fitness, home controls and smart energy.

Gene Wang, CEO of PeoplePower
