SES 2014: How Alternative Energy Affects Traditional Business Models

Among energy generation methods, electrical energy is in decline, with consumers beginning to favor more energy efficient and "green" methods like solar and wind power. In fact, recent Parks Associates research indicates that 60% of US households interested in purchasing a renewable power generator plan to purchase solar panels, the most popular option among renewable-energy power generators.

How will this increased adoption affect the traditional business models so many utilities use? In the final Smart Energy Summit session on February 19, representatives from Pecan Street Project, SDGE, Schneider Electric, Tendril, and the U.S. Department of Energy will focus on how utilities will need to adapt to the external forces on energy business models.

Speakers include:

Brent Hodges, Senior Vice President of the Retail Unit at Tendril

With a long history in the retail energy business, Brent is responsible for successful sales and delivery of the solutions Tendril develops for retail energy service providers as well for retail product and service providers.

Dave Hyland, Manager of Business Development at Schneider Electric
