63% of Smart TV Owners Have the Device Connected and 79% of Them Use It to Watch Online Video Regularly

Parks Associates today announced new research showing 26% of U.S. broadband households own a smart TV and 46% own at least one set-top box. Furthermore, 63% of smart TV owners connect the set to the Internet, and 79% of these owners use the TV to watch premium online video on a monthly basis.

In EMEA, Operators Look to Monetize Thirst for TV Everywhere

TV Everywhere is continuing to see steady penetration into the Europe, Middle East & Africa (EMEA) markets, but operators are struggling to find ways to make it revenue-generating.

Parks Associates research finds that more than 70 percent of pay-TV subscribers in Western Europe are able to receive a TV Everywhere/multiscreen service. In Eastern Europe, multiscreen availability topped 25 percent of pay-TV households in early 2013.

U.S. SMBs Interested in New Support Services From Broadband Service Providers, Electronic Retailers, and CE Manufacturers

Parks Associates finds 55-65% of U.S. SMBs prefer phone and email tech support options over face-to-face service. According to "Small/Medium Business: Tech Support Opportunities," 54% of SMBs prefer electronics retailers as a tech support provider and 51% prefer CE manufacturers, with 45% highly likely to use a broadband service provider.

Over One-Third of Smartphone and Tablet Users Use Mobile Devices as TV Guides
