The Verizon tablet app also only works if customers have a high-definition-capable set-top box. It does not show local affiliates of NBC, ABC, NBC or Fox. The app does not have DVR features to pause or rewind live TV, and it cannot stream shows stored on the home DVR.
The service will likely be available soon on Droid-based tablets, though Verizon officials declined to offer a timetable for that rollout.

Parks Associates, an international research firm, announced that it will highlight its latest consumer and industry research in key markets at CONNECTIONS Summit at 2012 International CES in Las Vegas on January 10.
The company’s focus will be on new connected products and technologies including smart HDTVs, voice controls, Android tablets, and multifunction e-readers that are changing the way consumers access and manage content in the home.
Hopefully for Google and device manufacturer partners, the second effort is more successful than the first. Parks Associates analyst Kurt Scherf told the Journal that the updated software offers a "big improvement" over the previous version, "giving a much more graphically rich version of the user interface."

These devices connect to networks either through cables or wirelessly and often have an array of built-in apps for watching videos or listening to music. A standard remote control is the only tool needed.
