Nearly 50% of U.S. broadband households interested in thermostat that can adjust to save money

40-55% of U.S. broadband households interested in IP-connected home controls

72% of U.S. consumers interested in tech support services prefer a comprehensive option

International research firm Parks Associates announced new tech support research today showing the do-it-yourself (DIY) model is the dominant, but not preferred, method for consumers setting up new connected or mobile devices.

Consumers to increase holiday CE spending by over 33% compared to 2011

New Consumer Analytics research from Parks Associates indicates U.S. consumers plan to spend over 33% more on CE devices this holiday season compared to last year, with the total amount increasing from $793 per household in 2011 to $1,058 in 2012. AV continues to be an expanding category within the connected home. According to Parks Associates, more than 60 percent of home audio products are expected to come with embedded network capabilities by 2016. The same report also revealed that more than 90 million AV units worldwide will feature technologies such as DLNA.
