Users have the ability to watch live TV, access past and current seasons, and build personal recorded or watch lists – the Grande2Go app can also be used as an extra remote control at home.
The news comes in the face of suggestions that US TV everywhere development is slowing. But research from Parks Associates has shown usage of authenticated TV everywhere has grown 22% since 2013.

The Parks OTT Video Market Tracker shows that 55% of UK broadband households and 51% in France are watching TV programming and films online and that 30% of broadband households in the former country and 17% across the English Channel subscribe to paid-for OTT video services.

“Content providers have been extremely aggressive in promoting their authenticated catch-up services, which is helping create traction for authenticated TV everywhere services in the digital entertainment household,” said Parks Associates Research Analyst Glenn Hower. “As usage increases, service providers and content companies alike will need to expand their big data capabilities, allowing them to create even more personalised services for their subscribers and viewers.”
Nearly a fifth of pay-TV subscribers report that they have a mobile app from their service provider, up from 16% in 2014. The highest adoption was found to be among AT&T U-Verse and Verizon FiOS subscribers, at roughly 30%. Parks found that 18-25% of cable subscribers reported having an app from their provider. Only 22% of DIRECTV subscribers and 17% of DISH Network users reported having an app.

"First-time adoption of pay-TV is up among Spanish broadband households as is the penetration of pay TV overall," said Brett Sappington, director, research, Parks Associates and author of the report. "The Spanish pay-TV market in general has a very active, cost-conscious base of subscribers, with higher-than-average rates of downgrades and upgrades and a substantial population of cord-nevers."

Citing leading provider AT&T, Parks analysts also noted that mobile operators will likely continue to explore new and novel strategies to attract mobile data subscribers. "AT&T is looking to leverage its acquisition of DIRECTV to build its mobile data business by re-introducing its offer of unlimited data as a reward to customers who sign up for the satellite TV service," Wang added.

According to research from Parks Associates, among broadband households planning to purchase a flat-panel TV, 59% in the UK, 57% in France, 53% in Spain and 49% in Germany plan to purchase a 4KTV even though content is not yet widely available. This resulted in an average of 54%. Moreover, 17% of such households were planning to buy a flat-panel TV in the next 12 months and over half consider 4K to be an important or very important feature of their next model.
