Parks Associates research shows despite 16 per cent of Spanish pay-TV households subscribing to pay-TV for the first time last year, the country’s broadband households still exhibit high incidences of cord-shaving, cord-cutting, and “cord nevers.”

A Parks Associates report reveals that 19 per cent of US broadband households currently own at least one Internet-connected smart home device. These devices, including smart thermostats, sprinkler systems, door locks, and security cameras, offer remote control, monitoring, or notifications via a smartphone, tablet, or computer. Upwards of 90 per cent of device owners use mobile apps to access cloud-supported services associated with their devices.

According to research from Parks Associates, 33 per cent of UK broadband households subscribed to an OTT video service as of Q3 2015. The study – Connected Consumer in Europe – also shows that only 15 per cent of UK households with pay-TV subscribe to premium movie channels.

Research from Parks Associates indicates that 18 per cent of UK broadband households have used paid-service Netflix in the past 30 days, compared to 20 per cent who used the free ITV Player and 33 per cent who used the free iPlayer to stream video programming.
