Hulu Already a Hit on Chromecast
Google Chromecast this week debuted an app for Hulu Plus, the premium, subscription-level service, but the free stuff offered by Hulu has already been a video streaming hit on the hot-selling streaming dongle.
According to data released this week by Parks Associates, 34% of Chromecast owners use it to stream free content from the Hulu Web site to the TV set daily.

Roku the Most Used Streaming Media Player: Survey
Roku isn’t the world’s best-selling streaming media player, but it’s the most used in the U.S., according to a new study from Parks Associates.
In a survey of 10,000 U.S. users conducted in the first quarter, Parks Associates found that, among homes with a streaming video media device, 37% primarily use the Roku, versus 24% for the Apple TV box, which both outpaced devices from Sony, TiVo, Netgear and Boxee, which was recently acquired by Samsung. Netflix May Be Eating Into VOD, Premium Networks: Study
With its low $8 monthly price, Netflix's Internet streaming service may be eroding usage of movies purchased through video-on-demand and time spent watching premium channels like HBO, according to a study by Parks Associates.
About 16% of U.S. broadband consumers who watch VOD and 17% of those who subscribe to premium programming consider using an online subscription service like Netflix as an alternative, the research firm found.
