"50% Yet to Buy a CE Product in '09

DealerscopeAccording to Parks Associates' Consumer Decision Process, almost 50% of broadband households did not purchase a CE product in the first half of 2009. The survey found that fewer households overall are buying CE products than in either of the past two years. Desktops, laptops, and LCDs led the product categories for those who did buy, reaching 14-17 percent of broadband households.

Parks Associates CEO Tricia Parks asserted, "Fortunately, intentions to purchase are higher in the second half of 2009 - we'll see a spike for several products for Christmas and the holiday season, including smartphones, earbuds, GPS devices, and digital photo frames."
