34% US broadband households have Smart TV

According to research from Parks Associates, Smart TV adoption increased by 31 per cent in one year so that now over one-third of US broadband households have a Smart TV.

Parks Associates analysts report that over 70 per cent of Smart TV owners have the device connected to the Internet. Also, nearly two-thirds of people shopping for a flat-panel TV this year plan to buy a Smart TV. According to Parks Associates, these trends show the Smart TV has a significant role in the connected home and is a key device to extend new services and experiences to consumers.
