Alarm.com and SDG&E, EnerNex, Lowe's, and Honeywell to keynote Smart Energy Summit 2013

Research firm Parks Associates today announced the keynotes and presentation topics for next week's Smart Energy Summit: Engaging the Consumer. The consumer-focused executive energy conference, February 25-27 at the Sheraton Gunter San Antonio, features keynote presentations from Alarm.com and SDG&E, EnerNex, Lowe's, and Honeywell. The keynotes will focus on energy management in the connected home and specifically partnership opportunities, strategies to leverage connected devices, retail strategies, and necessary steps to engage consumers in this growing market.

Parks Associates will present new research at the Smart Energy Summit, including connected appliance data that show U.S. broadband households are increasingly interested in automated energy solutions. Nearly 50% are very interested in a thermostat that can automatically detect an unoccupied house and adjust the temperature to save money; 44% of households would allow utilities to manage and monitor their home appliances in order to reduce their energy consumption.

"Consumer adoption of energy solutions often begins with a single connected product, which companies can leverage to create new value-added services," said Tom Kerber, Director, Research, Home Controls and Energy, Parks Associates. "Our Smart Energy Summit keynotes bring unique perspectives on this market, with strategies to increase consumer awareness and strengthen the value proposition for energy offerings. The Summit keynotes help address the different ways to engage consumers as well as how companies, including utilities, must evolve to meet the changes in this market."
